Introduction
SwiftNote ("we", "our", "the extension") is a free Chrome browser extension providing note-taking, drawing, image editing, and translation features. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with the extension. By installing and using SwiftNote, you agree to this policy.

Data We Collect
✓ We collect zero personal data. No backend. No database. No server receives your information.
SwiftNote has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no crash reporters, and no telemetry of any kind. We genuinely do not know who uses our extension or how they use it.

Local Storage
SwiftNote uses your browser's built-in local storage API to save the following — entirely on your device:
  • Your notes — text content you write in the Notes tab
  • Theme preference — whether you prefer dark or light mode
  • Language settings — your last selected translation languages
None of this data is ever transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the extension permanently removes all locally stored data.

Third-Party Services
SwiftNote uses one third-party service:

Google Translate API (translate.googleapis.com) — contacted only when you explicitly click the "Translate" button. The text you entered is sent to Google's servers to retrieve a translation. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

No other external services, APIs, CDNs, or servers are contacted at any time.

Permissions Explained
storageSaves your notes, theme preference, and language settings locally in your browser.
activeTabUsed only to navigate the current tab when a non-English user clicks the extension icon.
clipboardWriteAllows you to copy translated text to your clipboard with one click. Nothing is read from your clipboard.

Children's Privacy
SwiftNote does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no data whatsoever, our extension poses no privacy risk to minors.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
